Chinese consumption amounts to only 1/3 of US oil consumption. If we think of it on a per capita basis the contrast to US consumption is extraordinary. Every day the record oil prices are said to be caused by things other than the United State’s insatiable thirst for oil. This information can help one keep perspective.
